You see a shadow pass the door of the closet you are hiding in. A floorboard on your left creaks slightly and your heart stops when a large and bloody knife crashes through the closet door. Is this the End?
When the End Comes
You are trapped in a playground for serial killers: an abandoned warehouse or slaughterhouse, an old farm where the closest neighbors are a 30-minute drive away. Those locations you see in horror movies and of which you say to yourself that you will never end up in a similar situation. Do you get out of here alive? How long will you survive? Is this how your life is going to end, alone and afraid? But what if death doesn't mean the End?
When the End comes draws its inspiration from classic horror films like Halloween and A nightmare on Elmstreet, slashers and splatter horror like Saw and Scream and modern supernatural horror like The black phone. You play a group of friend, acquaintances or total strangers, who have to fear for their lives when a killer puts a target on their back.
The Game
- Try to stay out of the hands of those who want to hurt you.
- Survival gets harder the longer you last.
- Being killed doesn’t mean the end.
- Ghosts can be helpful. Or your worst nightmare.
- Your fellow victims can be allies. Or your worst enemies.

Revised
In honor of the 1-year anniversary of When the End Comes, some revisions have been made to the rules. Many characters have died for these rules to come to life, let their sacrifices not be in vain.

Got to play this game with Sandra as the GM. The mechanics were challenging but that's really what made it fun. You could really feel the stakes and that made it so exciting. It was also easy to learn and play, while rewarding role play.
Hearing the GM's genuine delight and joy in their wanting to kill you is also a plus! ;D
Really fun game, I was lucky enough to playtest this. Can recommend!
